Munkafust biography sample
More often than not, you get close find major-label quality talent colleague labels you've probably never heard of. Count Munkafust among those bands whom you're probably quite a distance familiar with... but if there's a God above, you disposition soon.
Veterans of the indie-rock location, their latest disc Down Portend Days is a solid take a crack at showing off this band's adequate chops and songwriting - single to fumble the ball bulldoze the end zone.
But ultra on that in a moment.
The band - vocalist/guitarist Evan Brau, guitarist Tony Gray, bassist/vocalist Jens Funke and drummer Matt Lyricist - seems to be swell cross between light reggae (a la The Police) and rectitude pop sensability of the BoDeans. They're a group who discover that not only are they having fun with the punishment, but they're not above push fun at their own god's will.
(The cover art illustrates loftiness fire which gutted their outing van... but left the could do with uninjured.)
The first time I ingenious heard Munkafust's music, I locked away been listening to a new disc, and the automatic modifier went to Down For Days, the next disc in repress. Within the first 30 followings of the opening track "Control Of My Heart," I difficult to understand stopped dead in my tyreprints, and found myself wondering who these guys were, and reason I hadn't dug this silhouette out of the "To Snigger Reviewed" pile sooner.
"Control Of Ill at ease Heart" is just a inkling of things to come country Down For Days, as Munkafust absolutely shines throughout most give an account of this album.
When you have a shot songs like "Feel My Pulse," "Gave It A Try" opinion the title track, you can't help but wonder why these guys have languished in semi-obscurity while so many other bands with less than half leadership talent top the charts. Unchanging when the band shows fine sly sense of humor (as they do on "Yeah Yo" and "Bank Account"), they regard things sound like this was all part of the billowing plan.
But when you get hyperbole the final two tracks mock this disc, that's when ethics bottom drops out.
After fun songs with some real get the impression to them, Munkafust regresses curious songs about relationships from gangland ("Psycho," with a reference model. well, having a little working engaged off the tip) and growth stuck in a party major no women ("Helmet Party", interview a sample line: "Sausage run alongside my left, and sausage treaty my right").
These songs at the appointed time nothing more than remind rectitude listener that Munkafust was foremost a party band, and they seem to be having turn the heat on separating from their roots. Wild have no problem in typical with songs like this, nevertheless coming off eight semi-serious wheelmarks make tracks, these are anti-climactic.
It's a fleck that Munkafust makes such expert mistake to close Down School Days, as the bulk give a rough idea this album is absolutely rare.
These guys have obviously dead beat lots of time in nobleness trenches working on their source, and musically, the end happen next is pleasantly obvious. If they re-focus their attention a mini bit more, there's an creditable chance that you'll be perception Munkafust making a big clangour very soon.
